My first aim when teaching is to instill confidence in a language learner. Even if language or vocabulary choices are not perfect, the main point is to start communicating and be understood. For this reason I focus on how to start communication rather than getting overly concerned about minute grammar details.
Secondly, learning a language is providing a window into another culture. Therefore, I give my insights into the culture of the language to engage a language learner.
Over the past decade I have taught children, high-school & university students as well as adults and seniors, both in one-on-one situations and in groups. I have taught beginners level English all the way through to advanced English & exam preparation. Recently I have been teaching ESL and Business English in Japan.
As an English teacher I have taught and prepared Japanese students for Eiken examination/testing to obtain their teaching certificate. Also taught/prepared students for their examinations to obtain “Hoikushi Shikaku” (Kindergarten Teacher’s License). The tailored made lessons that we will develop for you will be fun and enjoyable and will include vocabulary,sentence building, pronunciation and everything you will require to improve your English skills.

My love affair with the English language began as a High School drama student acting in Shakespeare’s Plays. At University I received my Bachelors Degree in English Literature. My love of the English spoken and written word gave me a marvelous career as a writer in Films, Television and the world of Media. It will be my pleasure to be your guide for this journey into English Conversation. By the completion of this course you will express your thoughts and ideas with confidence and depth of understanding in any situation.
