(SCREEN ACTING: Working with the Screenplay)
The dedicated goal is to develop the actor's ability to read for different roles from movie scripts of various genre. The process guides the actor naturally toward physical, intellectual and emotional character choices, authentic, and nuanced, and to the standard required to audition professionally.
I train screen actors from the perspective of someone who actually hires them for speaking roles. I have scripted directed and produced 4 feature films myself. And based in Thailand I have cast several international movies shooting here, mentored countless local talent, and given regular screen acting workshops every Sunday for the last 15 years. I know what is required of an actor auditioning for a film.
Ideally, the course should be for 1-3 students, with double classes, or at least two classes on the same day. The duration of the course should be no longer than 5 weeks (2-3 weeks would be the optimal period). Students should be prepared to "prep sides" before classes. The course is in English, because the skills are intended to prepare the actor to audition for English-language international feature films.

ABOUT THE TEACHER
I became a film-maker at 21, when I hitch-hiked across Europe with a Super 8mm camera. Returning to London, I set up my first production. Little did I know what I was undertaking. But a year later I had finished my first 16mm, a fairy-tale, shot in a semi abandoned school in Chelsea.. Since then I have gone on to write, direct, and produce feature films and shorts. In 2000, I relocated to Thailand to make Butterfly Man. Most recently, this year I completed a new film The Attic - a ghost story.

Ever since i arrived in Bangkok in 2000, I have given regular weekend workshops and courses in Screen Acting, developing an approach that addresses the demands of cinema (auditioning), and the profession. I have also written and delivered courses in screenwriting and producing. In London, I taught film and media courses for several years at various institutions, including Richmond-upon-Thames College.
