Course description:

Want to learn or improve your English in the most natural way? This course will do exactly that. A needs analysis will be completed before our first lesson, so that I can tailor the course to meet your unique aims and goals, incorporating various methods of fun learning!

Teaching approach:

My course will help you learn and use English in a natural and fun way! I will provide unique and tailored lessons depending on your level of English and what you would like to achieve. We can incorporate watching video, reading material and music. You pick the topics and areas and it's my job to make it interesting!

Course program:

Lessons will incorporate the four core skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. We will look at real life situations where you may use English, to ensure you learn in the most natural way. Lessons can focus on conversation, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary expansion or any other aspects of the language you want to focus on. I am also able to provide Business English classes.

Hello, I'm Julia, a 24 year old newly qualified English teacher from the UK. I am a native speaker and TEFL England qualified. I can provide English courses for all levels, tailored to each student's specific needs. Lessons will cover all four core skills to learn a language - reading, writing, speaking and listening. I can teach you conversation, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary building or any other aspects of English you would like to concentrate on. I also hold a Business Management degree and am qualified to provide Business English lessons. I carry out a full needs analysis of my students before teaching to ensure my lessons are tailored to you individually, so we can work on your aims together. Your English proficiency level will be evaluated by the teacher according to this framework:

A1 - Beginner:

  • Understands familiar English expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of concrete needs.
  • Can introduce him/herself and answer questions about personal details such as the place of residence and belongings.
  • Can hold a simple conversation in English if the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

A2 - Elementary:

  • Understands frequently used expressions related to areas of immediate relevance like personal and family information.
  • Can communicate in routine situations requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar matters.
  • Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and immediate needs.

B1 - Intermediate:

  • Understands the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in everyday situations.
  • Can deal with most situations likely to arise while travelling in an area where English is spoken.
  • Can produce simple, connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest.

B2 - Independent:

  • Understands the main ideas of complex English text on both concrete and abstract topics.
  • Interaction with native English speakers can happen with fluency and spontaineity and without strain for either party.
  • Can produce clear text on a wide variety of subjects and expose a point of view given the various options.

C1 - Advanced:

  • Understands a wide range of demanding, longer English texts, and recognizes implicit meaning.
  • Can express ideas fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions.
  • Can use English flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes.
  • Can produce detailed, well-structured text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organisational patterns and connectors.

C2 - Proficient:

  • Easily understands virtually everything heard or read in English.
  • Can summarise information from different spoken and written sources and reconstruct arguments in a coherent presentation.
  • Expresses him/herself spontaneously, fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in complex situations.
