Course description:

Hi I am a native Korean speaker Yun. I have been teaching Korean to people interested in the language. Learning a new language should be fun. I published learning the Korean language for the beginners titled "I Can Speak Korean" on amazon. The book is made based on my teaching experiences.

I am developing Learning Korean contents and tailoring the contents based on each students' learning needs.

Course program:

All the materials will be developed and tailored by me.

For Beginners: Can read, write, speak and understand Korean Alphabets called Hangeul. Focus on basic grammars and simple sentences. Understand how the Korean sentence structure works.

For Intermediates: Can make negation, interrogation sentences. Understand past, present and future tenses and can converse in Korean with sentences including prepositions and conjunction.

For Advanced: Learning materials will be tailored based on students

Hi I am Yun from Seoul South Korea. I am a native Korean speaker and the author of learning Korean language book called "I Can Speak Korean (for beginners)" and "Korean Folktale stories" on Amazon. I am developing material tailored on your needs. I will teach you Korean in easy, simple way with fun exercise homework. Currently I am creating learning Korean contents online.

I earned my master degree at UT at Austin in USA and obtained my bachelor degree of Education and English and National secondary school teaching certificate from Konkuk University Seoul, Korea.


I taught English to middle school students in Korea for 4 years. I have National secondary school teaching certificate so I became a public school English teacher when I graduated. I am the author of the books: "I Can Speak Korean (for beginners book 1)" and "Korean Folktale Stories" on Amazon. Currently I am creating learning Korean language contents online. Now I teach Korean to those who want to learn Korean via Skype or face to face. I enjoy teaching.

Proficiency level

Your Korean proficiency level will be evaluated by the teacher according to this framework:

A1 - Beginner:

  • Understands familiar Korean expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of concrete needs.
  • Can introduce him/herself and answer questions about personal details such as the place of residence and belongings.
  • Can hold a simple conversation in Korean if the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

A2 - Elementary:

  • Understands frequently used expressions related to areas of immediate relevance like personal and family information.
  • Can communicate in routine situations requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar matters.
  • Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and immediate needs.

B1 - Intermediate:

  • Understands the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in everyday situations.
  • Can deal with most situations likely to arise while travelling in an area where Korean is spoken.
  • Can produce simple, connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest.
  • Can describe events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give explanations for opinions and plans.

B2 - Independent:

  • Understands the main ideas of complex Korean text on both concrete and abstract topics.
  • Interaction with native Korean speakers can happen with fluency and spontaineity and without strain for either party.
  • Can produce clear text on a wide variety of subjects and expose a point of view given the various options.

C1 - Advanced:

  • Understands a wide range of demanding, longer Korean texts, and recognizes implicit meaning.
  • Can express ideas fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions.
  • Can use Korean flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes.
  • Can produce detailed, well-structured text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organisational patterns and connectors.

C2 - Proficient:

  • Easily understands virtually everything heard or read in Korean.
  • Can summarise information from different spoken and written sources and reconstruct arguments in a coherent presentation.
  • Expresses him/herself spontaneously, fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in complex situations.
