Hello to everyone! My name is Esther and I give Spanish lessons from scratch based on English. If you're looking for a native speaker that gives alternative and original classes that makes every lesson just suitable and perfect for you, you have found me! Hope to meet you soon :)
I believe the best way to approach a language is through the student and not the language itself. I will always focus on the student FIRST, figuring out your needs and desires, and trying to accomplish them the best we can. Some people are better are speaking, and some others are better at writing. I can guarantee you that we will look for your strengths in a language so that it's a beautiful process we can fo though together. Hope to meet you soon :)
This is what a standard course of one month/four hours per week/two hours per day would look like for a Spanish A2:
-Class 1: getting to know each other. Talking about fear and expectations. Identifying the student's level. Making some easy tests to place the level.
-Class 2: reviewing PRETÉRITO PERFECTO SIMPLE VS. COMPUESTO. Read a text about Dalí and Picasso about this (short biographies in past). Talk about last holidays, quarantine, anything that happened in the past.
-Class 3: vocabulary session with talking and videos. The topic can be from music (Bad Bunny) to films (Almodóvar for example). Express opinions and modulate it. Contextual difference. Write an opinion about a film/friend/yourself.
-Class 4: interactive class. This kind of class would normally be either going somewhere to talk about specific stuff (a museum for example) or perform a real-life situation (how to order tapas in Barcelona or Madrid). See how the student can react in daily situations. Going to a Spanish restaurant in Berlin.
-Class 5: FUTURO SIMPLE, COMPUESTO Y CONDICIONAL. Reflect on the future and how we perceive it. Exercises about it and write a text about the End of the World (El Fin del Mundo).
- Class 6: listen to an easy podcast in Spanish, comment it, understand it.
-Class 7: Spanish vs. Latin Spanish, what is there to know, how to identify it. Listening to music and watching series to notice accents.
- Class 8: student chooses.
Country of origin: Spain

About the teacher
Hey there all you language lovers! My name is Esther and I'm a Madrilenian (from Madrid, Spain) currently living in Berlin. I've been teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language for some years now to adults, kids, groups, everything! I have also broad experience in teaching French. My mom is half French, so I've spent all of my summers in France, visiting some family and practicing the language. I've been living in Montreal for two years.
If you're looking for an alternative teacher that makes you dance, perform theatre in class and even, talk to my friends in Whatsapp, maybe it's me who you're looking for. In my experience I've learnt that the best way to make someone interested in something is by making the learning process fun, but also listening to the student in his/her/hxs needs and find a suitable method for embarking in the beautiful voyage of speaking a language. I have a lot of material and every class will be different. I really hope to meeting you soon!
Bachelor in Political Science and International Relations, University King Juan Carlos, Madrid, Spain, year of graduation 2019
Even if I'm young, I've already lived in 5 different countries: Spain, Canada, Colombia, Turkey, and now Germany. In the Spanish speaking countries, I've taught French and English, and in Canada and Turkey, I was mainly a Spanish and English teacher (in Canada I was living in the French part and some communities didn't have access to bilingual education). I have taught kids (in Colombia, doing international cooperation), adults in enterprises (in Madrid), friends (Germany), and even family. I'm used to different ages and different formats, and I'm ready for new challenges!
