Learn Greek
(Modern Greek courses)
Unterricht in modernem Griechisch und bei Interesse an altgriechischer Sprache durch Übungen, Dialoge und Geschichte.
Lessons of modern Greek, and if interested in the ancient Greek language, through exercises, dialogues, and history.
To understand a language, one must understand its history, development, and mentality of the people speaking it. The traditional way of teaching a language is boring but effective, however, I add to this way short narrations of historic events that influenced and shaped the language.

Hello! My name is Sima, and I am a Ph.D. graduate in Byzantine studies, which means I am trained not only in teaching modern Greek but ancient and medieval Greek too. I am very passionate when it comes to Greek and Byzantine culture, as well as for teaching them. It is very refreshing for me to get to know new people, interact with them, and introduce to them one of the oldest languages in the world. When one learns Greek, one enters a world more than 2000 years old, learns to speak a language that has very little changed since the Trojan war.
BA in History and Archaeology - University of Cyprus - 2012

At the Greek school of Heidelberg in Germany, I have taught the Greek language and culture at the intermediate level during the academic period 2015-2017. Later on, at the University of Cyprus, I have taught two courses in Byzantine history in the academic year 2019-2020.
