Learn Humanities

Ancient Literature

Course description:

Are you reading a Classical book, play or symposium that you do not understand? I can help you read the classic in a new way that will help you with your class and with your future assignments with in-depth analyses and contextual clues that give you historical, cultural and political understanding.

Teaching approach:

By taking passages out of your current text we will discuss analogies and symbolism that shed light on the author's meaning as well as connections to current events to give you a contactual understanding of what you are reading. This will help you with how you read all literature as well as movies and music that you hear.

Course program:

As a toturing seminar the program is based on your schedule and when and where you can meet. We can have multiple sessions in one week if you have exams coming up, or we can meet once a month to prepare you for papers and book clubs.
