Song Writing and Vocal Recording Intensive Course

About the teacher

I am a composer and musician. I write orchestral music. I am also a professional musician. I play piano and sing.

I can teach the following: song-writing, jazz piano, harmony, theory, voice coaching, arranging, composition and piano.

I also teach an intensive song writing course. Students will learn the tools necessary to construct and walk away with a recording of their own song. Students will be guided as they learn song-writing skills utilizing harmonic structures, forms, melody, style, and vocal training.

Experience

I have taught piano, composition, voice , theory, song writing, harmony in Melbourne, Australia, Paris, London, New Orleans and Colorado.
I specialise in teaching adult students who have had classical training the art of improvisation. I have had lots of experience teaching classical pianists the tools necessary to improvise at the piano. I also teach intensive song-writing workshops culminating by a 'final' recording in my studio in London, UK. (Ages ranged from 20-35 years old).

I taught computer music program ( Garage Band) in London for the Camden school system in London to 8-10 year olds.
I taught music music classes in Leyton College in London. (ages 18-20). Students were required to finish by a final performance of songs they had written and arranged.
I have done substitute teaching in the London Contemporary School of music for classes in composition, theory and Sibelius software.
I have taught music class in the New Orleans school system for one year. Ages 16-17.
