Hello! My name is Juan Gabriel Olivares. I am from San Juan, Puerto Rico and I was raised in the United States. I am currently a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Toronto in music performance and principal clarinetist of the Ontario Philharmonic Orchestra. I received a Master's degree at Rice University (Houston, TX) and a Performance Diploma at the Glenn Gould School (Toronto, ON). I have many years of experience teaching clarinet and saxophone and love to work with all ages and experience levels. I would be happy to give one-on-one lessons either in person or on Skype.

I have been working as a private music teacher since 2010, and as a freelance musician since 2005 performing diverse music styles including jazz, funk, latin (salsa, cumbia, boleros, Cuban son), rock, and pop enabling me to support what I teach with real-life performance experience.
