Hello! My name is Deanna, and I am from beautiful Seattle, Washington, USA! I moved to California (Silicon Valley and Los Angeles) for undergraduate and then graduate school. I have studied education at amazing schools for 6 years, and have learned from some great teachers on how to be a great teacher myself! I think it is so important to teach material in a fun and engaging setting that centers around the student interests, strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles.
I love connecting with students, working as a team reach their full potential, and learning from my students along the way! My favorite part of teaching is when my students have worked incredibly hard on something, and something clicks, they make a realization, or they finally understand a concept and the hard work pays off!
When I am not teaching, I love to be active. I like to run, do barre, hike, play sports, and be outside. I love reading and art (especially drawing and painting), and although I used to hate cooking, I am learning to have fun experimenting with new foods in the kitchen! I become bored if I am not constantly be learning and trying new things.
