I'm Steve, an experienced English tutor originally from the United States, now living in Leipzig, Germany. I love tutoring because it allows me to make a meaningful impact on people's lives by helping them master a language that opens doors both personally and professionally. When I'm not teaching, you’ll find me exploring the great outdoors, hiking, and mountain biking, or engaging with local language groups to keep my own skills sharp. I’m passionate about continuous learning and enjoy helping others achieve their goals.
Here’s a glimpse into my educational journey, which really took off during what some might call a midlife crisis—but instead of buying a Porsche, I dove headfirst into learning.
In 2008, I reignited my passion for education with an Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies from Grace College. This sparked a renewed curiosity that I hadn’t felt in years. By 2011, I was ready to get hands-on and earned an Associate of Applied Science in Aircraft Maintenance from Vincennes University. But my thirst for knowledge didn’t stop there. In 2015, I completed a Bachelor’s in Business with a focus on Information Technology Management at Western Governor’s University, which fueled my interest in leadership and business. This newfound passion led me to pursue a Master’s in Management and Leadership in 2017, deepening my understanding of strategic thinking. Most recently, in 2023, I earned a Master’s in Psychology from Grand Canyon University, delving into the complexities of human behavior.
I bring a strong background in teaching, from my experience as a General Manager of an Auto Group where I trained sales teams on effective communication to increase profits, to my volunteer work teaching adult literacy classes for those struggling to read and write in their native language of English. I focus on practical, real-world skills, emphasizing not just the right language but also the timing and delivery to make a meaningful impact.
