Hello! My name is Sumeyye, and I’m an English teacher originally from Turkey, currently teaching in Lithuania. I have a strong background in international education and hold both IB and PYP certificates, which have deepened my understanding of inquiry-based and student-centered learning.
One of the things I enjoy most about teaching is seeing the progress my students make—not just in language skills, but in confidence and critical thinking. I love creating a classroom environment where students feel safe to express themselves and take intellectual risks.
Outside of teaching, I love travelling and exploring new cultures or learning languages. I believe that staying curious and continually learning are essential—not only for students but for teachers too.

Since graduating, I have been teaching English in Lithuania, where I’ve gained valuable experience working in international and bilingual school settings. I have taught a range of age groups, primarily focusing on primary students within the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework, particularly the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Cambridge.

Sveiki, domiuosi kalbomis, žmonių tarpusavio bendravimu ir kultūriniais skirtumais. Man visada buvo įdomu suprasti, kaip žmonės išreiškia save skirtingomis kalbomis ir kokie ryšiai egzistuoja tarp kalbų. Laikui bėgant šis susidomėjimas tapo sąmoningesnis, o mano vaikai pasakė: „Tu būtum labai geras mokytojas“, todėl nusprendžiau pradėti mokytojo kelią.
Neseniai baigiau TESOL programą. Pamokose daugiausia dėmesio skiriu mokinio poreikiams, nes kiekvienas mokinys mokosi skirtingu tempu ir turi skirtingus lūkesčius. Todėl mokymo planą pritaikau individualiai. Pamokas organizuoju pagal Oxford ESA (Engage–Study–Activate) metodą, užtikrindamas aiškią ir subalansuotą struktūrą.
Galiu rengti General English arba Business English pamokas pagal asmeninius tikslus. Mano tikslas – mokyti anglų kalbos logikos, o ne tiesioginio vertimo, kad kalba taptų suprantamu ir kasdienėje veikloje naudojamu įgūdžiu.
Hello, I am someone who is curious about languages, communication between people, and cultural differences. Understanding how people express themselves in different languages and discovering the connections between languages has always interested me. Over time, this curiosity turned into a more conscious passion, and with my children telling me, “You would really be a good teacher,” I decided to step into teaching.
I have recently graduated from a TESOL program. In my lessons, I focus on the learner’s needs; since every student has a different learning style, pace, and expectation, I tailor the program accordingly. I base my teaching on Oxford’s ESA (Engage–Study–Activate) approach and build a clear and balanced structure for each lesson.
I can prepare lessons for individual goals, such as General English or Business English. My aim is not to teach English through direct translation, but to teach its logic and make it a clear, practical skill that can be used confidently in everyday
Merhaba, ben dillerle, insanlar arasındaki iletişimle ve kültürel farklılıklara meraklı birisiyim. Farklı dillerde insanların kendini nasıl ifade ettiğini anlamak, diller arasındaki bağları bulmak her zaman hoşuma gitmiştir. Bu merak zamanla daha bilinçli bir ilgiye dönüştü ve çocuklarımın “Sen gerçekten iyi bir öğretmen olursun” demesiyle öğretmenliğe adım attım.
Yakın zamanda TESOL programından mezun oldum. Derslerimde öğrencinin ihtiyacını merkeze alarak ilerliyorum; her öğrencinin öğrenme biçimi ve temposu ve beklentisi farklı olduğu için programı buna göre şekillendiriyorum. Oxford’un ESA (Engage–Study–Activate) yaklaşımını merkeze alıp, her ders için dengeli ve net bir yapı kuruyorum.
Bireysel amaçlara göre General English veya Business English gibi özel ihtiyaçlara yönelik dersler hazırlayabiliyorum. Amacım, İngilizceyi tercüme bir şekilde değil, mantığını öğreterek, anlaşılır ve günlük hayatta kullanılabilir bir beceri hâline getirmek.

I have taught English to adult learners at Upper-Intermediate and Lower-Intermediate levels. My experience so far includes online lessons with students from Ukraine and other European countries. I mainly focused on speaking, communication skills, and practical language use in real-life situations.
