User account

In order to use Multi-Language Cafe, you must first register and create or obtain a password. You can register by filling out our registration form, by sending a message to a particular teacher or by requesting a service. During registration you are required to provide the following contact information: your e-mail address. We use this information for the purpose of contacting you regarding the services you request from us or in which you have expressed interest.

If you plan to receive payments, other optional account information includes the following: a PayPal account name or a bank account number where you would like your payments to be sent to you, an SMS number where you would like to receive urgent notifications.

All account and contact information provided remains strictly confidential and can only be seen and used by the website administrator. Fabrika Langue S.E.N.C. is the sole owner of the information collected on the website. We do not share any of the information collected with any third parties.

You can edit your account information or close your account altogether anytime.

User profile

To complete your user profile, we require you to specify your first name, your last name, to upload a picture of yourself and to specify your current city and country of residence. This information is used to help us and other users identify you and to tailor the contents of our website according to your local timezone and your local network of students, teachers and venues.

In addition to this basic profile information, other information is required for role-specific profiles, as described below:

Student profile

Your student profile includes the following information: a self-introduction, your achievements (the proficiency level you have attained).

In addition, you may provide the following optional information: your mother language and your fields of interest. This information remains private and is used only algorithmically with the sole purpose of providing you with more relevant invitations and contacts.

You may choose to keep this information private or to make it visible to teachers, to other students, or both. In all cases, student profiles are never visible to non-registered users.

Teacher profile

Your teacher profile includes the following information: a self-introduction, education and working experience. Upon approval of a teacher profile this information becomes public. This information is used by potential students to choose from different course offerings. This information may also be used for promotional purposes in other websites and social networks.

Service provider profile

Your service provider profile includes the following information: education and working experience. Upon approval, a service provider profile becomes public and is listed on our website. This information is used by service clients to evaluate your service offers.

Application for partnership

If you apply for a partnership we require the following information: a marketing proposal, your education and your working experience. This information remains private and is only used by our company to evaluate and approve or dismiss your partnership proposal.

Referrals

If you choose to use our referral service to tell a friend about our site, we will ask you for your friend’s email address. This address will only be used to automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the website. This address is not stored and is not used for any other purpose.

Conversations between users

Conversations between users are private and can only be accessed by the parties involved or by the administrator in particular instances with the purpose of solving a particular problem.

If you wish to subscribe to our newsletter, we will use your email address to send the newsletter to you. Out of respect for your privacy, we provide you a way to unsubscribe.

Service-related announcements

We will send you strictly service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, we might send you an email. Generally, you may not opt-out of these communications, which are not promotional in nature. If you do not wish to receive them, you have the option to deactivate your account.
