My name is Dhana Matthews and I have been teaching for 20 years. I live in the greater Vancouver area (Delta) and love teaching the wide variety of students who come through my classroom every year. I love the energy students bring to the education system and I learn more every year as I adapt to the unique needs of learners. In my free time I love spending time with my son in his many activities and enjoy our work with rescue animals.

Qualifications

B.A. In Psychology, minor in English from UBC (1990)
B.Ed from UBC (1994)
Diploma in Educational Psychology ( focus in learning disabilities) from UBC (1998?)

Expérience

I have taught elementary students in all subjects, K-7 through time as a teacher on call and through tutoring. I have also taught Socials 8-11, History 12, secondary English, secondary math up to grade 10, and have taught AP Psychology, IB Psychology and the Extended Essay for IB. I have worked primarily in the Delta School District and tutored on my own and have tutored university students in Psychology, English and History courses. I can help students with assignments, study skills, exam preparation and essay writing.

I am a native English Speaker and have studied the ancient languages of Greek and Latin. I am a recent college graduate from SDSU and am heading out to Thailand to teach English there after years of intense grammar and syntax studies. I can also tutor in Humanities, specifically Anthropology and Ancient Cultures

Qualifications

A B.A. in Classical Humanities, ie. Ancient Greece and Rome history, politics, philosophy, language, geography, and literature. I received my degree from San Diego State University in May of 2014. Certified TESOL by Oxford University Seminars in the 100 hour training course.

Expérience

I am new to teaching but have plenty of material for all ages, from children to adults from my TESOL Classes. In humanities I have given many teaching seminars at my school and am well trained to be a tutor after being a TA for a humanities professor at SDSU.

My name is Dan Cape, and I'm a PhD student from Sydney, Australia. I'm taking a break from studies at the moment, but am hoping to find teaching work here in Berlin - teaching is the best thing about being an academic, and I miss learning from my students as much as I miss sharing what small store of knowledge I have!

My academic interest is in film and animation, but I have a background in English Literature, and I'm generally interested in reading and talking about arts and culture. I wish I could adequately introduce myself in German, too, but I am still a novice - I look forward to learning a little German from students eager to learn English from me.

I can offer expert advice to all upper high school and university students looking to sharpen their English-language assignment/essay writing skills. While I will proofread and edit your work, I offer more than simple advice on English 'proper usage' - I'm confident that, if you wish, I could provide critical feedback on your topic or thesis and help you build a strong piece of academic writing.

I would also be interested in holding small conversational English classes or seminars, with students working together to come up with a topic we can all research and talk about together (over coffee).

Expérience

I have tutored and lectured a number of University film studies courses in Australia and New Zealand, taking in classic and contemporary film, visual arts, philosophy, media and cultural theory. My students were generally undergraduates but there were postgraduate students amongst them - people from all ages and walks of life in my classes, which made for lively discussion. The core of my teaching involved working through film analyses and critical texts with students, and coaching them in academic essay writing. Group presentations were another way for students to experience collaborative scholarship.

Bonjour, j'ai habité de nombreuses années à l'étranger (Londres, USA) et je parle couramment anglais. Je donne des cours d'anglais depuis longtemps, tous niveaux, enfants et adultes. Je coach les élèves au TOIEC, TOEFL et IELTS, ainsi qu'aux entretiens d'embauche, et aux entretiens pour les écoles de commerce. I am PhD-trained philosopher who has written 21 books and edited 15 others. I have also edited hundreds of papers intended for publication in scientific journals. I worked in health sciences research. I am a content expert in American pragmatism (philosophy), the philosophy of Nietzsche, and other Humanities topics. I have tutored on-and-off for 13 years, most recently intensively for 1 year. I can tutor English, reading, and other Humanities topics.
