About the teacher

I love motivating my students to communicate and learn from mistakes. I also like to conduct my teaching as much as possible in Spanish so that the students can have more contact with the language. Students can be immersed in the language from day one. I also use body language, visual images, intonation and gestures which all play an important role in communication.

Sometimes if the student wants, I can also clear up confusing points using one of the foreign languages I speak.

My experience as a teacher has allowed me to develop my creativity when planning lessons and explaining the language in a meaningful way. I like to use games for the beginner level students as it helps them to be more confident when using the language as well as allowing them to have fun while they are learning.

I also use the communicative approach so that from the first day, students can use the language they are learning. I not only teach the language, but I also like to promote cultural exchange.

Me encanta motivar a mis alumnos a comunicarse y aprender de los errores. Me gusta enseñar tanto como sea posible en español para que los estudiantes puedan tener más contacto con el idioma. Los estudiantes pueden estar inmersos en el idioma desde el primer día.

Cuando yo enseño también uso lenguaje corporal, imágenes visuales, entonación y gestos que también juegan un papel importante en la comunicación.

Si el estudiante quiere, también puedo resolver dudas utilizando uno de los idiomas extranjeros que he aprendido.

Mi experiencia como profesora me ha permitido desarrollar mi creatividad al planificar las clases y enseñar el idioma de una manera significativa. Me gusta usar juegos para estudiantes de nivel principiante, ya que les ayuda a tener más confianza cuando están aprendiendo. También utilizo el enfoque comunicativo para que desde el primer día los estudiantes pueden usar el idioma que están aprendiendo.

J'aime motiver mes apprenants à communiquer et à apprendre de leurs erreurs. J'aime aussi dispenser mon enseignement autant que possible en espagnol afin que mes apprenants puissent avoir le maximum de contact avec la langue, et ce avec une immersion dans la langue dès le premier jour.

Lorsque j'enseigne, je joue également sur le langage corporel, le visuel, l'intonation et la gestuelle, qui jouent un rôle clé dans la communication.

Parfois, si l'apprenant le souhaite, je peux résoudre une incompréhension en faisant appel à l'une des langues étrangères que je maîtrise.

Mon expérience d'enseignante m'a permis de développer une grande créativité dans la planification des cours et de l'enseignement de la langue. J'aime utiliser le jeu pour les débutants, car cela les aide à gagner en confiance pour apprendre une langue étrangère. J'utilise également l'approche communicative afin que les apprenants puissent s'exprimer dans leur nouvelle langue dès le premier jour.

Qualifications

I have a bachelor’s degree in Modern Languages from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Bogota, Colombia) and a diploma in Teaching Spanish Grammar as Foreign Language from Instituto Caro y Cuervo in Bogota. I also made an exchange in Brazil to learn Brazilian literature, grammar and pronunciation of Portuguese in the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP).

Experience

I have experience as a Spanish teacher at Sergio Arboleda University and in language institutes in Bogota and Oslo. Teaching is my passion and I thoroughly enjoy being a language teacher. In the years I have been abroad, I have worked with students in one-on-one lessons. I have lived in Hungary, Brazil, England, Germany, and Norway.
