Then I assess their theoretical knowledge and technical ability and design lesson plans that adapt to their musical abilities, motivations, and individual learning styles. I believe it is essential to understand what each student finds to be engaging and interesting such as specific songs, bands, or music styles, and then use those elements to keep them interested in learning.
