About the teacher

Hi my name is Nadine I am originally from the UK but I now live in Toronto. I am an experienced artist, facilitator, choreographer writer and performer. I have taught both adults and children for a number of years and have a wealth of experience in my listed fields. I have been the director of my own company NBDT ltd in my native UK, for a number of years providing dance, drama and team building support to educational and non–educational bodies.


Qualifications

Drama:

Drama and Theatre Studies BA Hons: Roehampton Institute, University of Surrey, London, UK. 1999.

Dance:

Summer Dance school Certification A mixture of disciplines from contemporary to choreography classes Laban dance school, London, UK.

Summer Dance School Certification A mixture of discipline but more focus on African Neo traditional and Caribbean folk dance. Edna Manley College. Jamaica WI.

Summer School Dance Certification Compania Ballet Folklorico De Oriente A mixture of disciplines but focus on Afro-Cuban folk/Santeria Dance. Santiago de Cuba, Cuba WI.


Experience

In drama I have taught various drama techniques such as improvisation, role play, tabluex, voice projection and enunciation, stage presence, character building etc. I have taught all ages in schools, theatre workshops, and corporate self esteem building. Institutes I have worked at are Royal Festival Hall London England, and Jacksons Lane Theatre London UK to name a few.

In dance I have taught various genres of dance such as ball room, bhangra, neo- traditional African dance , Caribbean folk, English folk, Salsa and hip hop to name a few. I have also helped other with their confidence in dance , choreography and focus on posture etc.
