Interested in studying in or traveling to the USA someday? This course will provide the language and/or academic instruction needed to be successful in an American school, and in American culture. Instruction will be personalized based on student strengths, needs, interests, and goals.
Taught by an experienced American teacher, this course will begin by assessing the student to find exact strengths and weaknesses. The assessment will determine which level of U.S. schooling the student would be placed in, and the program will follow U.S. standards for that level. In addition to having high language standards, I incorporate technology skills, communication skills, and problem solving skills necessary for modern careers and living. It is also crucial that my students have fun!

Hello! My name is Deanna, and I am from beautiful Seattle, Washington, USA! I moved to California (Silicon Valley and Los Angeles) for undergraduate and then graduate school. I have studied education at amazing schools for 6 years, and have learned from some great teachers on how to be a great teacher myself! I think it is so important to teach material in a fun and engaging setting that centers around the student interests, strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles.
I love connecting with students, working as a team reach their full potential, and learning from my students along the way! My favorite part of teaching is when my students have worked incredibly hard on something, and something clicks, they make a realization, or they finally understand a concept and the hard work pays off!
When I am not teaching, I love to be active. I like to run, do barre, hike, play sports, and be outside. I love reading and art (especially drawing and painting), and although I used to hate cooking, I am learning to have fun experimenting with new foods in the kitchen! I become bored if I am not constantly be learning and trying new things.
