From any SOURCE, build your slate of 6 short film ideas. Then, prepare to transform an idea into a script. Acquire and harness the key elements of STORY, knowing how to create CHARACTER, and "an ear" for believable DIALOGUE. Finally, smash the slate, to leave the best idea for scripting.
Similar courses would typically ask a writer for a single story idea. I ask SIX (And 5 of these ideas will be shelved anyway). It is not only about pushing creativity to the highest standards, the process also teaches writers how to "let go" of ideas they may have become to attached to. As a screenwriter, and director, the theory is accompanied by insight, and first-hand experience of the screenwriting process.

It will be relating to the history of film and film language, from the first attempts to productions by directors such as Gus Van Sant, Danny Boyle, Michael Moore, Jane Champion, Lars Von Trier, among other artists.
La metodología consistirá en combinar la teoría histórica sobre los distintos autores, y la técnica práctica a través del visionado de extractos de los films escogidos para ser analizados. El objetivo es aportar unos conocimientos propios del ámbito cinematográfico como materia de estudio y entrenar el desarrollo del juicio y la apreciación del cine como arte y entretenimiento.

Speaks EnglishWestern Philosophy, since its inception, has largely ignored the medium by which it is communicated: its literature. This course examines the relation between linguistic ability and philosophical acuity through a number of texts, from ancient to modern.
The approach is to examine seminal works throughout the history of Western Philosophy - one text every class - from Plato's "Symposium" and the poetry of Lucretius, to Descartes' "Meditations" to the ground-breaking work of Friedrich Nietzsche and Ludwig Wittgenstein.
