¿Por "Hace frío" y no "es frío"?

¿Por qué en español se dice "Hace frío" y no algo como "Es frío"?

Hello:

"Hace frío" we use it to talk about weather.

"Es frío" we could use it to describe the temperature of an object/item and since we would be talking about a condition, we would use verb 'estar'.

When talking about weather, it's common to say "hace frío" (it's cold). For example, hoy está nevando, hace frío" (it's snowing today, it's cold).

However, if you're talking about objects or things that you can touch and feel, it's common to say "está frío". For example, "el café está frío" (the coffee is cold).

No hay una explicación lógica para ello. El tiempo tiene varias formas:

Hace calor y Hace frio, Hace viento

Llueve, nieva

Hay tempestad, Hay tormenta
