About the teacher

Hi!

My name is Claire, I'm from Sydney and am studying a Master degree in German law. I speak fluent English (native speaker), Japanese, French and German (C1 certificate). I have lived and worked in Australia, France, Germany, Japan and Hong Kong.

I am happy to teach English, whether technical, literary or even conversational classes, with topics based on your personal interests and needs. I have worked in the legal profession, as an intern, research assistant and proofreader/editor in a number of countries (Australia, Japan, Germany), and have also worked in a bookshop for ten years, so I love to talk about books.

I have also got a great deal of experience as a proofreader and editor in English. I have worked as a proofreader for a law firm in Berlin, and at the International Chamber of Commerce, as well as for the Faculty of Law at UNSW, so my proofreading is very good quality. Please get in touch if you need any proofreading done (for example, of business documents, private documents, CVs, Theses).

Bachelor of Arts (Advanced Japanese, Advanced French), University of New South Wales

Bachelor of Laws (LLB) (Hons), University of New South Wales

Master of German Law　(LLM in Deutsches Recht), Universität Humboldt 2014-2015.

Experience

I have taught English as a tutor privately, as well as being a legal research assistant and proofreader/editor for the Faculty of Law at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. I have also worked in a number of law firms, doing legal research as well as editing/proofreading and translation work. I have also worked as a paid blogger/writer and online content manager.

I have also tutored Japanese, and was an assistant teacher for first-year Japanese at the University of New South Wales. While living in Japan, I also taught an English conversation course for local residents in Nagoya.
