We will work together to improve your communication skills in English. The classes will include interesting and useful themes, popular idioms and any grammar you might need to improve. I will include optional homework to help you practice and retain the themes we discuss during class.
The majority of the class will be focused on conversation. I will bring several different and interesting topics to discuss that will not only keep you entertained, but will challenge you to improve in the areas you need the most. I will also bring and assign various listening activities to keep your comprehension skills caught up with your speaking skills. My teaching style is very relaxed and friendly and I specifically cater my classes to each individual student's needs.

Hello, my name is Ashley and I am an English teacher from the United States living in San Jose, Costa Rica. I have been teaching and tutoring English for almost 4 years and I love working with ESL/EFL students. I have experience teaching all levels of English. My favorite thing about teaching is watching students conquer something new; I understand how difficult the learning process is so when I can help a student understand something difficult I feel incredibly happy. Outside of teaching I love to run, dance, watch Netflix and write. I am very easy going and patient and I am very easy to get along with.

As a Writing Consultant at my university in the United States, I worked with native and non-native English speakers to improve their writing skills in all fields for 3 years. My students came from every major and background.
For the past 6 months I have been teaching English to Spanish-speakers in Costa Rica. I work with every level of English and my students range from ages 12-65.
