Learn Marketing
Asia is a booming market with today's top businesses lining up to be here as China is becoming the number 1 consumer for tomorrow. In this course, I will quickly walk you through my experiences working in China and will give you a general overview of how to do business there.
This course will have 5 major components:
1) Introduction to the Chinese market - Huan Ying ni!
2) Bridging the culture - what is there to know about the mindset in Chinese business
3) Building the guanxi - all about chinese relationship
4) The big information gap - what's missing behind the great firewall
5) Get ready to set up shop - the resource guide
This program is designed for those interested in coming to Asia (specifically to China). Most of us have heard that there's a hell lot of gold behind this country and understand that with it's rise to power, comes the opportunity for business to flourish. However, this is a double edged sword as many have made their move but few have taken the profits home from it. This is due to the lack of understanding of the cross cultural barriers and how to conduct business over there. In my course, I will cover the basics of what is there to know about the changing environment of China, what it takes to build a good Chinese relationship and how will you be able to leverage what you have in succeeding in China.
My name is Nicholas and I graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2013 with a Bachelors in Business marketing and international relations. My core focus is on developing a better education for youth of tomorrow and I will be back in Shanghai in July to continue that journey. During my studies, I had the opportunity to visit over 20 countries worldwide and gain an insight into local realities all around. I believe that all things happen for a reason and my travels throughout have taught me that the deepest lessons learnt are those where you try, fail and get back up again. Asia is a place of opportunity and pitfalls, however it's still a place that has growth. So if you'd like to find out more about my experiences and about Asia, please sign up for my course.

"The world is getting a whole lot smaller and flatter."
My name is Nicholas and I have been in the education business for a little over a year now. My main focus is on improving global cross-cultural understanding and communication. I was previously actively involved in the world's largest student run organization in leadership development and exchange internships. This has brought me all around Europe, Asia and North America on exploring different cultures, systems and developing my own personal global network. During my spare time, I love to pick up on new languages to get a simple understanding on communicating with others, currently I am fluent in English, Mandarin and have a basic knowledge of Cantonese and German.
In the future, I want to connect my international contacts together with my experiences in working and studying abroad to guide students in the future to create an innovative and culturally diverse working environment. My long term goal is to establish an educational institution that will impact the future generations through critical thinking and constantly challenging the social norms we have today to create a better future.
My goal for the future is to let "success not be defined by the grades or goods we have. Rather have it defined by the goals you have set to accomplish throughout your life and being grateful to the people who have gotten you there."
