Spanish for Beginners

Course description:

Over the course of 16 classes (60 minutes each), students will learn essential vocabulary, useful everyday expressions, and core grammar structures that support effective communication in Spanish-speaking environments.

Teaching approach:

I focus on teaching useful vocabulary and essential grammar that students can apply in everyday conversations. My classes are interactive, practical, and conversation-based, helping students feel comfortable using Spanish in real-life situations from day one.

Course program:

One-hour lessons taking place twice a week, during 8 weeks (16 hours).

Hi! My name is Ilenia. I am from Spain, although I currently live in Canada. I’m a certified Spanish teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in English and a Master’s in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language. I understand the struggles of learning a new language, which is why I strive to make my classes fun and engaging. I offer friendly, personalized Spanish and English lessons designed for real-life situations, no pressure, no judgment.

Bachelor's degree in English Studies (University of Oviedo and University of Victoria)
Master's degree in Medical Translation (es-en) (University of Jaume I)
Master's degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (Madrid Open University)

Experience

I am currently teaching Spanish to English-speaking students in Canada and the US. In the past, I have also taught English to Spanish-speaking teenagers and older adults.
